The Element

Curriculum

There is a clear focus on inclusion and we know firsthand how important it is for The Element to meet the needs of every young person. We ensure the highest standards and expectations are in place to make sure all children are receiving the best possible education in a quality provision, ambitious for all.

We know outcomes matter for the future of individuals and putting children first will always be our priority as we strive to meet a range of social, emotional and educational needs that reach well beyond the classroom.

Through mentoring, counselling and 1:1 support alongside an innovative curriculum, there is focus on creative learning habits and growing a ‘can do’ mindset that prioritises resilience and self-esteem.

This is done in partnership with parents/carers, schools and a host of multi agencies to ensure that our students receive the highest quality care. We understand the local need and are renowned for our work in the Wirral borough and aim to have as many students as possible return to mainstream education or embark on a longer term supportive curriculum diet that prepares them for the world of work.

Each child is unique and upon entry to The Element, they undergo academic and therapeutic assessment as part of the induction process, involving both our highly skilled staff and the staff from the child’s parent school.

Each child starts their journey with an individual plan. This is to ensure that we meet their needs and capture the voice of parents/carers and the young person. Targets are set and agreed by all parties before a place is offered.

Regular monitoring and tracking of the students’ progress is vital throughout their time at The Element, as this will allow us to deploy and/or amend interventions that will ensure that each child has the best possibility of achieving their individual targets.
